A new two-step rainbow holographic process is proposed, shich does not need to put a slit in front of the primary hologram. The required slit is synthesized by properly charging the inoidert angle of the reconstruction beam of the primary hologram. Both theoretical analysis and experimental results are presented.

Based on the principle of leaky waveguide, we made measurement of the refractive index of a cryolite film deposited on a K9 glass substrate. The accuracy is about 1 x 10-4, which is similar to that for a real waveguide. Possibility of decreasing the minimal measurable thickness of the film by insertion of a high index thin layer between the substrate and the film to be measured is discussed. When a white light source is used, we make judgement of waveguide excitation by observing the dark m-lines in the reflective light; in this way,the refractive of the cryolite film in the wavelength range from 450.0 to 650.0 nm is determined.

This paper presents a study on the influences of timing, injected signal power and injected beam diameter upon the output power and divergency of a injection locking system, which is composed of two similar telescope unstable OVL with a 45° glass plate inside of one laser as coupling optics. The results showed that the injected signal strongly suppressed the competition of high order transverse modes (including ASE) in cavity, then led to raise the efficiency and to improve the divergency simutaneously. In the case of output power about 5W, the injootion locked system raised the power by 30%~40% and reduced the divergency to half, compared with the independent unstable reaonator.

The paper reports the enhanced mechanism of a dye laser in an external resonant cavity and its construction. The applications of an external resonant cavity in Doppler-free speotroscopic measurement and in frequency doubling of a single-mode CW dye laser are introduced. We achieved a conversion efficiency of frequency doubling over 100 times the original level by using the cavity.

This paper reports a new type of prism spectro-system, which, is comparable to the grating. The adgular dispersion amplification of VBP (Variable Beam Prisms) is applied to this spoctro-system, so that its dispersion and resolution are greater than that of normal prism spectro-system by 10-102times. When the VBP is pair-wise set into a apectrosystem, the derivation between the incident and exit beams is always fixed in operation.

In this paper we report a new type of velocity interferometer, optical fiber velocity interferometer, which uses optical fiber as the delay arm. It can be used more conveniently and accurately to measure velocities in different ranges varing in time by choosing different lengths of optical fibe according to the range of velocity and required measurement accuracy. This system provides two signals with phase difference of 90°, therefore, it gives higher resolving power and can distinguish acceleration or decelertion.

We have developed a simple interferometer to test the microscopic objective. It may be used to test the on- or off-axis various wavelength wave aberrations, chromatic aberration and other optical performances of various magnification microscopic objective. We have described and discused the system errors of this instruments.

On the basis of extended Huygens-Fresnel principle and quadratic approximation, general expressions of the beam spread reflected from a target in a turbulent atmosphere are devivod. Tho properties of reflected beam spread are investigated. It is found that there exist "amplification" and "self-compensation" of beam spread in the reflection from a mirror and a corner cube reflector, respectively. Calcutations show that the spread can be reduced by using a long-wavelength laser as well as large transmitting and reflection radii.

An isoparametric element method for the analysis of arbitrary dielectric optical wavefuides is described. This technique is based on the rigorous Ee-He variational formulation. The eight-node curve-sided quadrilateral element has been used. This type of isoparametric element is epecially suited to the study of the complex optical waveguides and optical waveguide devices with curved boundaries. As numerical examples, the step-index fiber, the graded-index fiber, the isotropic fiber coupler and anisotropic fiber coupler have been studied in thiS paper.

To discover the spectra of them present obvious difference and the spectra for the blood of the different kind of the patient also present obvious differece, but the spectra of the specifieness compositions for earlier peiod cancer disease is same which close to spectrum of the That the method is used in the earlier period diagnoses is maybe the most good and can bo used in checking widely. It is not only simple but also quick.

Configuration admixture and excitation energies are computed for the even-parity J=0, 1, 2, valent states of 6s2, 5d2 and 6pa confiqurations of Ba. We employ a model potential method to obtain the one-electron spin-orbitals. The computed excitation energies are generally in good agreement with available experimental data, and the three configurations are found to admix heavily in the 1S0 states. The results also identify theoretically 6p2 1S0 autoionizing state which gave rise to controversy in assignments of the levels of Ba.

A new automatic design method of optical thin film systems is presented, in which the effect of the errors in monitoring of optical multilauer coatings on the performance is considered. The merit function in the design involves not only the optical properties but also the rate of finished products of the multilayer coatings by computer simulation, and the highest rate of finished products is taken as the end optimization goal. The thin film systems designed by this method not only satisfy the rezuirement of optical properties but also have larger manufacture tolerance. Hence, this method will be very effective in production. Some examples of the designs of broad-band and double-band antireflection coatings are given. The resnlts of such designs are satisfactory.

The paper introduces a simple method of wide-band anti-reflection coating. We have derived the limited formula of anti-reflection for wide-band anti-reflection coating based on the concept of equivalent interface and equivalent optical derivative. The results show that one can design wide-band anti-reflection coating efficiently by using the coating parameters determined by the limited formula of anti-reflection. Examples of design, experimental results and disussions are also presented.

A new thin-film characteristic matrix, with which the relationship between the normal component of D and the tangential compo ent of E for TM wave of between the normal component of B and the tangential component of H for TE wave at the two boundaries of a layer can be described, is presented and used for calculation of electric field distributions inside multilayers. As a consequence, very simple expressions for the electric fields of TM and TE waves at any angle of incidence are obtained. The electric field distributions of a thin film polarizer and an induced reflection fi] k-r are calculated and plotted for illiustration of the new matrix method. It is also shown that the dispersive equation of surface polaritons on multilayers may easilybe derived by using this method.
