Based on the effective index method and the differentution medthod, modes characteristic and modes absorption loss coefficient of all sillion ridge waveguide with rectangular cross-section are analysed. By using anistropic etching with Ethlendiamine Pyrocatechol-Water Solution (EPW), all-silicon ridge waveguides with rectangular cross-section have been fabricated, and its loss characteristics have been discussed and analysed.

    The feasibility of reconstructing X-ray lensless Fourier-transform hologram with visible light is discussed in this paper. It is conclusion that not only the spherical aberration, but also the coma can be removed when the X-ray lensless Fourier-transform hologram is reconstructed with visible light. Aberrations can be neglected under some conditions.

    Based on Hit-or-Miss algorithm of mathematical morphology, a new scheme for optical multi-objects recognition is proposed. This scheme is not only having high processing speed for object recognition, but also can remove the error warning signal which usually appears in the optical correlator approach. Therefor, its result of object recognition is more effective and reliable.

    The developing technology of imaging detection needs more higher resolution of optical systems. According to the traditional optical theory, the aperture should be enlarged to fit the reqllirement. Bait it is difficult to achieve this method in such a system with limltod scale, weight and Price. A pupil super-resolution technique based on the Rayleigh Criterion as a PIV index is studied and presented in this paper. This method can improve the system resolution without the enlargment of aperture of optical system. There super-resolution pupils have been designed based on the theory analysis, and the results of computer simulations are also presented here.

    A new method for measuring spectral characteristic of photo- electron multiplicate tubes (PMT) is proposed. The basic idea is to utilize an acousto-optic filter as the dispersing element. The system was calibrated by using time delay technique, so that monitoring beam can tube from measuring beam directly.

    The phase delay of wave plate can be accurately measured by using a mechanics-optics rotatory modulator to modulste the phase between two interference OPtical borns. The mechanics-optics modulator makes it simple to adjust the optical axis of the quarter wave plste in the instrument and that of the sample being measured. In ordinary condition, the instrument bssed on this method has relative error less than 0.5%.

    Based on emulated electron beam paths and optimization, we have designed the correcting lens for manufacturing the stripe type color phosphor screen. It is comfirmed through computer-modelling exposure that the landing errors are considerably reduced.

    A new method to test the human ability of color discrimination is described in this paper. The color discrimination ability is tested by observer's judging the oriention of the pattern "E" varied at random. The sort of the color-blind can be determined conveniently and accurately. And the grade of the color defect can be determined quantitatively. The experimental results is useful to the theoritical research of color vision.

    In order to obtain output laser of near diffraction limit divergence, output properties of a modified confocal and a plane-concave self-filtering unstable resonator have been investigsted. The copper vapor lasers with 2. 5 times and 1. 4 times diffraction limit divergence thereby were achieved respectively.

    By using the steady saute analysis of a mode-locked laser with a nonlinear mirror, the mode locking conditions and the intensity limit of the mode locking pulses are obtained. It is useful in finding the optimum condition of mode locking operation.

    Using non-coaxial two-beam laser, we can obtain specially designated plasmas with cerium parameter in space and time, and realize the study of spatial distribution of plasma radiation and effect of plasma source on spectroscopic line shape in absolute the same condition. The experimental results show that possibility of X-ray laser pumped by plasma X-ray source in a very simple facility.

    A BBO crystal optical porametric oscillator (OPO) with a grating pumped by a laser at 0.532 μm is demonStrated. The linewidth less than 1 μm for tuning throughout 1.02 to 1.08 μm and the maximum energy conversion efficiencies upto 3.5% are obtained.

    The method of eliminating chirp for gain-switched laser by F-P spectral window is analysed theoretically. Under the linear chirp approximation, the expression of spectral width after F-P is derived. The dependents of pulse width, pulse waveform and waveform factor after F-P on the parameters of F-P are given. Experimental results are close to the theoretical analysis.

    Results are presented here of the transmission properties and the surface damage threshold of several types of step-index silica-core optical fibers at the XeCl wavelength (308nm), transmission loss and the fracture limits of these fibers due to bending are measured also. The minimum transmission loss of the UV fibers is about 0. 33 dB/m and surface dsmage threshold is about 10 J/cm2

    In this paper, the mathematical structure of k orthonormalized eigenstutds of the higher powers (k≥3) of the q-boson annihilation operator are studied. Based on the work, the properties of the mathematics, q-squeezing and the amplitude N th-power squeezing are investigated. It is found that they form a complete q-Hilbert sauce, and the amplitude N th-power squeezing [N=(m+1/2)k, m=0,1,2,…] can exist in the all of them when k is even.

    Hyperfine coherence resonances with ΔmF=0,±1,±2 are observed in 87Rb vapor optically pumped with a microwave modulated semiconductor laser. The O-O(F=2,mF=0) hyperfine coherence resonance may be used as a reference of the atomic clock.

    The definition of spatial resolution in the PTR (photothermal radiometry)system is given. The influence of incident beam size on spatial resolution is investigated.The theoretical anlysis and practical measurements show that focused incident beam improves the spatial resolution of the system greatly.

    In this paper,we have obtained LIF spectrum of D1 ∏→ X1 ∑+ of NaK induced by 514. 5 um of CW Al+ laser, assigned the spectrum by the known molecular constants, analysed and discussed the emission mechanism of LIF in detail. The vibrational constants of X 1 ∑+ state have been provided by using the least-square fit. The calculated wavelength values are in good agreement with the measured results. We also calculateFranck- Condon factors and intensities of each Q-branch transition. The computed intensities coincide with the observed very well in considering dependence of transition dipole moment Re(r) on r. It proves that the values of vibrational and rotational quantum numbers (v,J) we have determined are reasonable.

    Optical absorption spectra and optical constants of the vacuum sublimed films of copper phthalocyanine (CuPc) were studied. A comparatively strong absorption was oberved at wavelength region of 550 to 750 nm. The static optical recording test of a CuPc film indicated that low power He-Ne laser irradiation could produce a relatively large reflectivity change. The introduction of metallic reflective layer on the recording layer will raise the writing threshold energies and maximize the reflectivity contrast.
