The Bragg deviations proterties of volume holographic optical elements (HOEs) and compensation are Studied. And the allowable deviations of wavelength and angle from Bragg condition are discussed. Finally, tho authors como to a conclusion that at some modulations the higher diffraction efficiencies of VHOES can still be obtained off Bragg condition and the value of allowable Bragg deviation is larger in higher modulation. The experimental resulta are given in this paper.

The perfect shuffle/exchange Omega interconnection network is a free-space regular multistage interconnection network. It is one of great important networks to develop novel architectures of digital optical computer in parallel and data flow and optoelectronic hybrid computer in parallel multiprocessor system. This, paper presents a equivalent omega network which consists of left and right perfect shuffle interconnection as well as a spatial light switch device. A optical combination prism with the properties of low loss, and equal path length of all optical channels to implement perfect shuffle interconnection has be designed. The optical system of perfect shuffle/exchange Omega network composed of two optical combination prisms and a spatial light switch device is realized in our experiment.

In this paper, the specifics of digital speckle intensity correlation metering (DSICM) has been discussed in detail. The dynamic range, spatial resolution and signal resolution of DSICM have been investigated theoretieally and experimentally under the conditions of cohrent and uncoherent light. The way of extending the correlation metering dynamic range and improving the correlation metering system has been presented.

Stimulated Raman Scattering (SRS) is one of the methods to shift the UV excimer laser radiation into the near UV and visible region. The beam quality of the Stokes output can be improved by means of Raman beam clean-up. In this paper, the experimental results of Raman beam combination are reported for increasing the efficiency of the Raman beam clean-up.

Carrier-induced group-velocity dispersion influencing the chirped pulses propagating in traveling-wave semiconductor laser amplifiers (TW-SLA's) is analysed theoretically in this paper. The chirped pulses will be compressed or broadened because of carrier-induced group-velocity dispersion when TW-SLA operates far below saturation. The relations among the TW-SLA parameters, chirp parameters and broadening factors are investigated theoretically. The results imply that TW-SLA's provide the possibilities to compensate simultaneously for the effects of both fibre loss and fibre dispersion in optical communication systems when used asin-line amplifiers.

Using tho Stimulated Brillouin Scattering (SBS) in high pressure gas SF6 as a phase conjugating mirror in a Nd:YAG laser resonator, we have got laser pulses with the pulsa energy of about 100 mJ. The spatial mode of output beam is much better than the output beam from the phase conjugate resonator based on the SBS in liquids. The power density of about 150 MW/cm2. And nearly TEM00 mode are obtained. The stability of tho output energy is also increased.

Some reported experimented results of the active-passive mode locking Nd:YAG laser are analysed with fluctuation model. The observed threshold performance and mode locking probability versus the driving power of modulator are explained. The relationship between the stability of the system and the dye concentration obtained experimetally is clicussed theoretical study is in good agreement with the experiment.

In this paper, the steady state behaviour, linear stability and the response to small signal modulations of cavity length, pump and gain or loss of a sigle mode CO2 laser with homogeneously broadening medieum are analysed based on the vibro-rotational model. The results are comparaed with the similar analysis for two-level rate-equation model. We put special emphasis on the effect of the non-lising Vibro-rotation levels on the response of the three modulations mentioned above.

The experimental and theoretical investigations of the plasma produced by XeCl excimer laser evaporation of YBa2Cu3O7-aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa target are presented in this paper. The plasma emission spectrum was analysed with the Optical Spectrum Analyser (OSA) and a series of species in the plasma plume were resolved. Then the time-of-flight spectra of the species were measured using a monochromator with an optical fibre sampling system. An expansion model of the plasma plume was suggested on the basis of the experiment. By using the model, the time-of-flight spectra, the spatial characteristics of the plsma plume and the distribution of the superconducting thin film thickness deposited by the plasma were simulated. The calculaton results are in good agreement with the deposition experiments.

The relationship between the perform ance of partial compensation adaptive telescope using laser guide star and the etar brightness is discussed. The laser energy requireme nts both for the Rayleigh guide star and the Na guide star are presented in case of the diameter of subaperture is larger than the coherence length γ0 and of the residual rms wavefront error over the eubaperture is larger than 0.10λ.

Transformation of the degree of polarization under the action of a nondepola-rizing system is analysed. We find that the degree of polarization may be reduced in gome nonpolarizing systems and it does not agree with the belief before.

The emission spectrum of a pair of two-level atoms coupled by dipole-dipole force in a single-mode radiation field is Studied. It is found that atomic dipole-dipole interaction destroys the symmetry of the spectrum. The spectral properties for the vacuum field and strong field are discussed in detail.

PIOS (penning ionization optical spectroscopy) method was used to investigate structure of ionized CS2. Emission of CS+ (A2∏i→X2∑+) 13-2 and 14-3 bands in CS2/He and OS2/Ne penning ionization flowing afterglow was observed in the wavelength region between 470-490nm when high discharge current was used. Experimental result showed that the above emission was preferential in CS2/Ne system. Secondary collision was assumed as the reason of the emerging of these emisson.

In this paper the measurement of the ultraviolet absorption edge of LiNbO3 crystal grown from the solid-liquid congruently melt at room temperature is presented. It is affirmed that the absorption edge below 4.0 eV is attributable to indirect transition. The meaning of three straight-lines of the spectral curyo are discussed by studying the α1/2-hv curve of LiNbO3. The energy gap Eg is 3.38 eV.

This article introduces a new method for dynamic spectral study of a semiconductor under its optical nonlinearity condition. With this method, a semiconductor GdS in the optical nonlinearity is investigated, it can be observed that the CdS's transmitting spectra (at the edge of the absorbing band) are varying with time (at the ms degree). The computer imitating calculation consists with the experimental result. The conditions have been found for realizing the room temperature optical bistabi-lity on CdS.
