The array of optical cache memory and the array of random access memory are very important devices for digital optical processor. A simple system of optical cache memory array is proposed in this paper, which consists of two 2-D optical bistable devices. They are used for memory block and switch element respectively. The experiment scheme is discussed in detail. The whole process of random latch in and taking out for optical signal array is implemented experimentally.

We have studied the matrix-vector and matrix-matrix multiplication using four-wave mixing in LiNbO3:Fe crystal. The response time of the device is in the order of a few seconds. The intensities representing the elements of matrices can be lower than 100μW/mm2. "We have also discussed two photorefraotive effects that affect the accuracy of multiplication.

The IPA (Inter-pattern Association) memory is set up with Fresnel Hologram. Compared with Hopfield Model, it is of better storage capacity and higher reoogniza-tion ability even for the patterns which are similar to each other. The interconnection of patterns with large pixel number is implemented in this system because of using hologram.

In situ measurements of the relative changes in the lattice constants of KAP corresponding to the different dislocation density ranges has been earried out by means of (n,-n) double crystal diffract)metry. The (n, -n) double crystal reflection of the (001) plane with Cuka radiation shows that the relative change in lattice constants due to dislocations are in the range of 3.8~19.2×10-4nm.

This paper presents a novel widely tunable, pulsed dye laser with single transverse mode narrow bandwidth which can be constructed by using a grazing-inoidenoe grating in eonjustion with a hollow circular dielectric waveguide. The experimental results show that the single transverse mode narrow bandwidth laser output can be obtained while maintaining a high lasing efficiency. The mechanism of the improvement is also discussed in this paper.

The energy levels of Na-like ions from Copper to Molybdenum are reported. The transition wavelengths of 5g-4f, 5f-4d, 6g-4f, 6f-4d are given as well as the oscillator strengths. These transitions are of potential interest for X-ray laser. The results indicate that the 6f-4d transition of Se ions, the 6g-4f transition of Br ions, the 5f-4d transition of Zr ions, the 5g-4f transition of Nb ions are all in the range of the "Water "Window".

The spectrum of five-time ionized titanium emitted from a three-electrode vacuum spark has been observed using a 1-m normal incidence speotrograph. We have observed 157 new lines of TiVI in the region from 24 to 200nm. According to the newly identified lines of TiVI we have found 11 new enegy levels and revised 5 doubtful energy level valuse.

This article presents a method of making hard alloy WC-TiC-Co on the No.45 steel surface by using high power laser beam. The microstructrue and performance of the alloyed layer are observed, examined and analyzed, and the mechanism of forming hard alloy is studied. The results indicate that it is very successful to improve the properties of the metal material's surface with this method.

By means of coupled density matrix and maxwell equations, we investigate the physical mechanism of two-step optical resonant ionization. Numerical technique is used to analyze the excitation and ionization efficiency affected by the atomic and pulse's parameters. Some optimazation conditions are derived and simultaneous different-wavelength optical solitons (simulton), as one of those conditions, are discussed preliminarilly.

This paper studies the measuring method of fluorescence lifetime for the high-lying triplet state of Na2. The response function influence on the measuring apparatus has been eliminated effectively by simulating the equifrequent two-photon excitation process with the frequency doubler and numerically calculating the convolution of the fluorescence decay curve. Then, the fluorescence lifetime of the high-lying triplet state 23Πg-a3 Σu+ in Na2 has been measured.

Spectral intensity enhancement by factors of 102 to conventional sample techniques has been obtained with the liquid-core optical fiber. The loss ooeffoient in the fiber were calculated by measuring the stokes line intensity.

Considering the three-layer antireflection band being not wide enough, a new method to relize the design of broad band antirefleotive multilayer is proposed. Its total thickness is not changed. Using this method, equal-thickness four-layer antireflectivemultilayers have been designed successfully with the last reflectivity of less than 0.2%, antirefleotion band-width of 390nm. This paper represents design procedure, definite condition of antirefleotion and several examples of applied design. The result showed that this new method is much better than the classical antireflective mutilayers.
