Based on the theory of partial coherence, the theoretical explanation of the pseudo-coloring by an encoded phasepicture and the adjustable pseudo-coloring by a amplitude grating or a phase grating is made.

    In this paper, the moving law of the partially coherent speckle is studied on the defooused image plane. Itsparticular example is the laser defooused speckle. The factors of dominating the defocused amount are discussed and the exprimental technique is investigated.

    The storage capacity a0 and addressability of a nonlinear neural network suitable for optical implementation have been studied by means of computer simulation. A Monte Carlo algorithm to improve its synaptic interconnection matrix is proposed. The storage capacity and addressability of the neural network after Monte Carlo learning process are both improved considerably.

    A technique is investigated which uses a laser to measure two components of the transverse velocity of diffuser.On the basis of the derivation of space-time correlation function on the far-field dynamic speckle, a computer-aided detection system is presented. The correlation properties are approached by using the system. The relationship between vector components of the transverse velocity of a diffuser and differentially spatial-temporalcorrelation function of dynamic speckle is shown to be linear. Hence it is possible to measure the velocity vector of a moving diffuser by evaluating the space-time correlation of dynamic speckle. The experimental results are presented to illustrate the theory.

    The nearlo degenerate four-wave mixing of the magnetized and unmagnetized plasma as studied integratedly. The general formulae describing the plasma phase conjugation are derived. This theory can be used to develop a microwave phase conjugator.

    Glass lasers can output the most powerful laser at present for laser fusion and laser-plasma interaction research. The great attention was paied to the Nd: doped fluorophosphate glass because of its low nonlinear refractive index n2 and suitable stimulated emission cross-section. Based on the composition effect of spectral properties and other physical properties of glass the practical glass composition and technology of fluorophosphate glass were determined. The results indicated that the glass has good physical properties and laser performances. The only problem remained is solid inclusions which are being attacked.

    The crystals in the ZrF4-BaF2-LaF3-AlF3-NaF fluoride glasses were studied by using Leitz optical microscopy,scanning electron microscopy (SEM),energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and wave dispersive spectroscopy (WDS). The LaF3 crystals with different sizes and shapes were characterized. The merits of various analytical techniques are discussed.

    A new antofoeusing method called off-axis detection (OAD) method is deoeloped. It used no ether elements except a off-axis arranged quadrant detector . It has the advantages of simplicity, good reliablity, high sensitivity, better linearity and can be used in many fields, especially, in optical disk. The principle of the OAD method is described and the results of computer simulation and experiment are given.

    Polarization rotation due to geometric path of singlemode optical fibers has been investigated. The results of theoretical and experimental studies are reported on such polarization rotation with input and output ends of fibers being non-parallel. This is, to our knowledge, the first time that this kind of research has been done.

    In this paper we deseribe a new low pressure symmetric discharge heat pipe (LPDP) which may be used to generate high Z low pressure metal vapour sample. Wes have studied the double resonance opto-galvanic spectrcscopy (DROGS) of Eu atom in different pressure with the LPDP. Four new lines of Eu froml7341cm-1 excited level and three from 16612 cm-1 are observed for the first time. It is verified that such a new LPDP is suitable for studying highly excited state speotroscopy of high Z metal elements.

    The AlH A'∏-X'∑(0-0), (0-1), (0-2), (1-1), (1-2) and (1-3) bands were recorded by means of a King furnace and a Bomem DA3.002 FT Speotrophometer at resolution of 0.05 cm-1. The rotational lines of the six bands are least-squares fitted to derive the molecular constants. The RKR potential curve in this state was calculated in terms of the derived constants for the part near equilibrium configuration. Both of the short-range and long-range parts of this potential curve were estimated by the observed predissociation line widths. Then the three parts were combined smoothly by means of cubic spline to form a complete AlH A’Ⅱ potential curve, which gives rise to the asymptotic dissociation energy of 1900.5 cm-1, and nonrotational potential barrier of 327.57 cm-1.

    Coherent Anti-stokes aman Spectroscopy (CARS) of the Q-branoh (v = 0→v= 1) of NO has been obtained with folded BOXCARS which can provide high and unambiguous spectral resolution for diagnostic purpose. CARS measurement were perfermed for various gas pressures and various las er linewidths. A theoretical calculation of the CARS spectra, taking into account the laser linewith and lineshape, is presented and compared with experimental results. The calculated and compared with experimental results. The calculated CARS spectra using the horentzian laser lineshape gives the good fit to the experimental CARS.

    In a vapor cell, the relative intensities of a sensitized fluorescence I3/21 and a direct fluorescence I3/22, as a function of T (100 to 200℃), had been measured by the methods of selective stepwise excitations with a Rb lamp and a tunable CW dye laser. From these measurements, the fine-structure transition cross-section in the 7 2D states of Rb induced in collidsion with ground-state Rb atoms were determined to be σfs (7 2D5/2→72D3/2) = 4.7 × 10-13 cm2 and σfs1 (7 2D3/2→7 2D5/2)=7.0×10-13cm2 and the cross-section for transfer of excited Rb 72D-state atoms out of the doublet were also determined as σ(tr)(5/2)=0.62×10~(-13)cm~2. The calculated result for the geometrical cross-section of excited Rb72D state shows that the magnitunes of σfs and σ1fs can be described relatively well by σgeom.

    Collision-enhanced Hanle resonances in the ground state of Na atoms with a linewidth of 1 8mG(FWHM) have been observed in the high-contrast transmission spectroscopy. The width of theseiresonances still shows Dicke narrowing effect, but the signal intensity drastically increases with increasing the buffer gas pressure.

    In this paper, we discuss quantitatively the influence of the photodisscoiation process on the determination of the photodetachment cross-section in the photo detachment experiment of the polyatomic anious, and show the posibilities of simultaneous determination of the photodetachment oross-sections and the photodiss-ociation cross-section.
