Starting from the principles and characteristics of fiber Bragg grating(FBG), the possibility to monitor the ice on power transmission line by using FBG sensors was experimentally and theoretically analyzed. The one-side and two-side simple supported beams were established, the relation between reflected wavelength of FBG and the loading on beams was studied. Then the experimental data was fitted by using least squares and thus the mathematical relation between wavelength offset and the loading on beams were obtained. The result shows that it is practical to monitor the weight of ice on power transmission line by FBG sensors.

The composing and controlling diagram block of the optoelectronic tracking system were analyzed, and every part of velocity stabilization loop was modeled. Through the open-loop frequency characteristic test of the gimbal, the actual frequency characteristic curve of the tracking system was plotted. By using total least square algorithm on testing data to approach curve, the mathematics model of the controlled object was built. Comparing with the actual frequency characteristic curve, the model has made good coherence.

How to support the Mirror, especially the primary mirror is one of the most difficulties to design a large aperture and long focal length collimator. The number and the location of support points for collimator primary mirror are optimized. The diameter of primary mirror is 1 000 mm. The formidable optimization analysis module of ANSYS is used to optimize the primary mirror’s model in condition of 3, 9, 18, 24 and 27 different points support. Also, static analysis of five different numbers of points support in gravity field is simulated. From the displacements of five mirror models, the values of PV and RMS respectively are calculated. To satisfy the requirement of PV and RMS, the best case can be given-18 points support.

All laser pointing systems are subject to two fundamental pointing errors which are boresight and jitter errors. The beam can be accurately pointed to the target and the signal loss can be reduced during transmission if the effect of the two main pointing errors are mitigated. A new method of the laser pointing system based on a Gaussian far-field irradiance profile and a Gaussian jitter model is proposed, and which can get boresight error using the information of the return optical intensity without the return signal from sensors on the target neither scanning the target and get the error only 5 μrad. The experimental results successfully validated the feasibility of this method.

The thermal emissions of two-dimensional photonic crystals are researched with transfer matrix method. The thermal emission in stop band is generally weak for a perfect photonic crystal. As the radii of air holes in surface layer are changed, the thermal emission is adjusted accordingly. In some wavelengths, the thermal emission is become greatly big. Such kind of modification of thermal emission is originated from the excitation of surface mode.

A new flat back-light excited by plasma employing different conductive materials as the external electrode was developed. This back-light is composed of two sealed flat glasses in which the pure Xe (at pressure of 200 Torr) was inflated and a layer of phosphor was coated. A water film being considered as electrode was sealed on the out surface of the upper glass substrate, and an ITO film being considered as conductive medium was added on the out surfaces of the lower glass substrate by using the transparent conductive tape, where the glass with thickness of 1.1 mm was used as the dielectric barrier discharge layer. The white light was available by exciting the phosphor layer with the plasmas introduced by high-frequency voltage, whose luminance was 4 000 cd/m2 accompanied with the lighting homogeneity over than 92%. The experimental results show that the most suitable driving frequency was 9.6 kHz.

The photochromic mesoporous silica/ molybdphosphoric acid composite thin films were prepared by evaporation induced self-assembly process and wetness impregnation. The results indicate that the PMo molecules are homogeneously distributed and immobilised inside silica mesopores modified by organic amine. The composite thin films change from colorless to blue under ultraviolet irradiation. It is shown that the charge transfer occurs by reduction of heteropolyanions accompanying the formation of heteropolyblues, and the bleaching process of composite thin films is closely related to the presence of oxygen.

Frequency interference is the most common form of interference signals in all kinds of information equipment and signal processing. If the frequency interference is not removed, it would affect the measurement accuracy. In the beginning, the frequency interference on the impact of the analog signal was analyzed, then according to the characteristics of interference, a control circuit to control sampling frequency was designed, and the sampling frequency and frequency synchronization were realized, and so as to effectively remove the frequency interference. Finally by the method of calibration, the ideal mathematical relationship of the output values and the input analog signal were obtained.

Because railway trucks bearing fault detection field conditions are extremely complicated, every electromagnetic interference signals can easily enter the measurement system along with the measured signal. To address this issue, the voltage isolation hardware circuit achieved by high linearity analog optocoupler HCNR201 and operational amplifier was designed. In the circuit, one operational amplifier is used as a negative feedback amplifier in front of the linear optocoupler, which is used to detect analog voltage signal; the operational amplifier at the end of linear optocoupler makes a conversion between the current and voltage, outputs finely voltage signal and achieves the 1:1 isolation transmission of voltage signal. The experimental results show that the measuring method can realize the good voltage linearity and high accuracy.

In order to improve performance of CCD(charge coupled device) at low light levels, a new technique of eliminating readout noise is presented after analyzing the short of classical technique, namely, correlated double sampling.First, the primary kinds of noise in CCD are analyzed, and then a platform for generating and analyzing the noise in CCD is established. An array of proper numbers can be found to be used in the practical filter circuit from the result obtained by the platform under low light level. Therefore, the reset noise of CCD can be eliminated more efficiently than classical technique and any other noise passes doesn’t introduced through digital filter.

As the video vehicle detecting has a great importance to the intelligent transportation system, a new moving vehicle detection method based on optical flow in complicated background was presented. To deal with the hypothesis that the smoothness of optical flow and the conservation of gray intensity don’t come into existence on the condition of shadow, boundary and overlap, a new forward-backward optical flow equation is introduced and the Hessian matrix of equation is computed. Then the conditional number of the matrix is combined with the associated matrix of Lucas-Kanade’s optical flow method to eliminate the restriction points which are not credible within local neighborhood. Experimental results show that the proposed method helps to obtain satisfying detecting results due to its good stability and high detecting accuracy. The results can be used as the basis of advanced vehicle control and traffic management in intelligent transportation systems.
