（1980年代前）土坯房
泥瓦房建筑材料为土坯、草或瓦房,房屋为一层。该类农房功能单一,缺乏私密空间,抗震、抗风等抗击自然灾害的能力差 第二代
（1980—2000年）砖瓦房 砖混结构,墙面是砖,房顶是瓦,房屋为一层。该类农房较为坚固,抗震、抗风等抗击自然灾害的能力大幅度提高 第三代
（2000—2010年）经济型楼房 楼房为两层或两层以上,钢混结构,独栋或联排布局。采光、通风、居住私密性良好,功能比较完善。抗击自然灾害的能力强。农房经济实惠,注重实用,不重视房屋外观装饰和人居环境营造 第四代
（2010年以后）高质量楼房 为两层或两层以上,钢混结构,独门独院,私密性好,有庭院和车库。一般独栋或联排布局,有统一的平面设计,抗震、抗风等抗击自然灾害的能力强,注重房屋外观装饰和人居环境营造
