    The vast majority of existing wireless solutions applied to various industrial environments are based on traditional radio frequency technology paradigm, which has many potential risks such as electromagnetic interference and industrial data leakage. Many research institutions are actively introducing various wireless optical technologies into industrial intelligence scenarios. In order to clearly describe the research progress of wireless optical technology in industrial scene application, this paper combs the aspects of industrial wireless optical multi carrier transmission, multiple input multiple output(MIMO) transmission, positioning and prototype communication system experiment, and gives the main technical challenges and potential solutions for the further development of industrial wireless optical technology preliminarily.
