The solution of temporal parameters for powerful laser pulses is obtained by extending Wagner and Lengyels investigation. The expression for the forming time of pulse is given. It is presented that the forming time of pulse, single pulse condition and pulse duration are affected by the cross section of the active medium.

Output and threshold parameters of a small bore pulsed xenon laser are presented in detail as a function of voltage and gas pressure. The peak laser power is about 150 W. Ten spectral lines in the range of 4300~6300 A were found. Laser pulse duration is 0.2 ~ 1us, discharge voltage is 4~12kV and gas pressure is 0.1- 9 mtorr.

We report here the observation of self-induced polarization change in some optical glasses and laser glasses with a Nd3+-glass TEM00 mode laser beam. The nonlinear optical susceptibilities C1221 of these glasses have been measured experimentally and their nonlinear refractive indices n2 have been determined.

The second harmonics of YAG:Nd3+ laser at 0.532m was used as the pumping source. The experimental study was conducted on room temperature repetitive LiF crystal Fa center lasers, and the mechanisms concerned are discussed.

The results on the study of aromatic abundance in rock sample with ruby laser-pyrolysis gas chromatography (LPGC) are given. Experimental data show that aromatic abundance in rock sample can be decided by the relative abundance of G2H2 produced from LPGC. Accordingly, this provides a rapid and simple LPGC method for determining the oil-bearing rock in sedimentary rocks. In this paper, preliminary theoretical analysis from the view-point of plasma mnti-cheroistry reaction processes is .made on laser pyrolysis mechanism and others.

The reaction products in the process of boron isotope separation by multiphoton absorption of BC13 have been studied. When oxygen was used as a scavenger, the stable solid product was B2O3, and (BOC1)3 was not found. Our experiments show that when irradiated with focused TEA C02 laser, BC13 reacted with fluoroearbou grease to form boron fluoro-chloride and boron trifluoride. A possible mechanism for the reaction between BC13 and fluorocarbon grease has been proposed. It seems that BC13 was first dissociated into BC12 and Cl by intense IR laser action, and BC12 then reacted with fluoroearbon grease to form BFC12. Moreover BP2C1 and BF3 were formed because of the dismutation of BFC12.

Pulsed lasing of gold atoms at 6278 A has been obtained in the electric-discharge pumped mixture of gold vapour and neon buffer gas. A sealed-off fused quartz discharge tube lined with an aluminum oxide ceremic tube is used. The laser operates at 1500. It’s output power is 30 mW when operates at 16kHz with a lifetime of 7.5 hours.

The paper describes the basic principles of laser triggered spark gaps, and the experimental results using various medium. It is shown that to obtain fast rise time, the spark gap filled with high pressure gas is required, and this risetime is about 1 ns.

In this paper, effects of cleaning treatment of the cylindrical surfaces of Nd glass rods on the gain of laser amplifiers were studied experimentally. Results show that the small signal gain of the rod cleaned carefully and strictly, as compared with that of the same rod cleaned usually, is increased by a factor of two.

The wavefront curvature of a laser beam was measured by diffraction imaging, a measurement method which may be applied in measurements. The local wavefront distortion induced by small-scale self-focusing of high power laser beams have been improved.

A passive current-stabilized power supply as pump source of a 440mm long He-Ne laser tube is described. Better current fluctuation of 0.05% was obtained by means of rectifier type constant voltage transfomer and compensation for constant current transistor controller when transmission line power voltage varies within 180~250 V and current of laser tube stabilized within 6~10mA.
