In References [1], we have presented a method to measure the power density distribution of continuous output high power laser by using a moving slit. However, only with the proper experimental conclusion. In this paper, we introduce the experimental data processing process by using the computer graphic processing technique on an experimental collected light spot.

In this paper, the influences of spatial resolution of TV camera, digital filtering and defocusing on measured accuracy of diameter of a particle are studied by using digital analytical method under coherent illumination. A simple method of focusing recognition is presented. Finally, the experimental results are given and found to be consistent with the theoretical analysis.

A new configuration of dye laser oscillator is presented in this paper. The background of amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) in laser output is fully restrained in this configuration. A quasi-ring oscillator is used and high efficiency of laser output can be achieved.

Using KTP crystal, LD pumped intracavity frequency doubled Nd:YAG laser has been developed. The CW green laser with linear polorization at 0.532μm has been obtained. The pumping threshold is 41 mW, the output power is 1.4 mW, the slope effeciency is 1.7%. The influence of the pumping light on transverse modes of the frequency doubled laser is studied has been studed. The experimental method and results are reported briefly.

A monolithic Nd:YLF laser was pumped by a multi-quantum-well laser diode arrary and the linear polorized light was obtained at 1.047 μm with a threshold of 6.8 mW and a slope efficiency of 24%. The maximum output energy reached 6.7 μJ. The peak power of 50 mW was achieved by a gain-switching. Theoretical analysis for the threshold, the slope efficiency and the gain-switching of the solid laser pumped by a laser diode was presented.

After introducing the overlapping factors between the (pump and signal) light intensities and the erbium dopant distributions inside the fiber core, analytical solutions have been derived for rate equations appropriate to 1.48μm pumped erbium-doped amplifiers. Using the deduced expressions, important features characterizing the amplifiers have been analysed and discussed.

A LD-pumped OF-coupled NYAB self-frequency-doubling laser has been developed, in which the pumping laser beam from LD are focused into the NYAB crystal through a section of optical fiber. For the fundamental trasverse mode operation, the threshold pumping power is 14 mW and the output power of 0.531 μm green laser beam is 3.6 mW with an efficiency of 3% and the degree of polarization larger than 99.8%.

A Pb0.97Cd0.03S0.9Se0.1diode laser with pulsed operation at up to a temperature of 162 K and a PbS0.53Se0.47 diode laser with CW operation at 28 K have been fabricated by a horizontal unseeded vapor growth technique, self diffusion and mesa stripe-geometry. Their emission wavelengths are 3.22 μm and 5.53 μm respectively. In pulsed operation and CW operation the threshold current density are as low as 143 A/cm2 and 41 A/cm2 at 12 K respectivety.

The experimental study of self- induced coherent light oscillations with photorefractive crystal KNbO3:Fe in a linear cavity are reported. For the transmission of the cavity P=0.28, the incident intensity dependence on the oscillating light intensities I'A, the phase conjugating light intensities IPC, the phase conjugation reflectivity Rc, the oscillating light build-up time constant τ0 and the phase conjugate light build-up time constant τc are measured respectively. For Ip=7.8 W/cm2, the maximum reflectivity Rc=1.6% and the maximum oscillating light intensity IA=2I′A=1.0 W/cm2 are obtained.

We discuss the theory of self-pumped phase conjugation in a special case based on backward stimulated two-wave mixing in a photorefractive crystal. The frequency shift of the scattering wave is considered to be the result of the moving grating which arises from the photovoltaic effect in photorefractive poled crystal.

Thermo-optic bistability at room temperature has been obtained in CdS films (thinckness 1~3 μm) excited by Ar+-laser (A=514.5 nm). The transverse effects and on/off waves was recorded in the thermo-optic bistability. Different behaviours of CdS crystals for the thermo-optic bistability and the thermo-optic breakdown was investigated. Minimum distance (200 μm) between the OB elements that works separately has been calculated.

With the C- R model, on the condition of given plasma parameters, we calculated the "pure atomic" relaxation and population of Li- like Al ions. The necessary atomic parameters, such as energy levels, wavelengths, oscillating intensities and the probabilities of transitions were calculated with H-F method.
