The two-lwvel synthetic wavelength component scheme of 3. 39μm band dual-line He-Ne laser for large length interferometry without carriage guideway is tested and verified by using infrared heatwave interferometer. The principle of the infrared heatwave interferometer used in the experiment is presented. The experimental data are given and analyzed. This work provids experimental basis for the large length measurement scheme enploying 3. 39μm dual-line He-Ne laser.

    This paper reports the generation of the 1st and 2nd anti-Stokes components of the backward SRS in H2, analyzes the mechanism of their generation and compares the properties of the backward SRS with those of the forward SRS.

    Stimulated Raman scattering is observed when high-pressure H2 is pumped by KrF laser. The Stokes beams and anti-Stokes beams are compressed. The first Stokes beam is 1/3 of that of the pumping beam. And the effect of buffer gas on conversion efficiency of Stokes beams is studied.

    The relative variation spectra of reflectivity induced by injected carrier in an undoped GaAs film at 820~900 nm rangs are measured experimentally. The relative variation spectrum of refractive index are also obtained using above results. The above results effect on optical switch characteristic are analyzed.

    Photoacoustic wave with frequency of GHz and corresponding detection were researched. The PA in materials was excited by a mode-locked laser. The thickness of thin material was measured no- destructively by echo analysis. Also the laser induced photothermal wave studied. The measurement of sink energy can be used to illustrate damage mechanism of material.

    A XeCl excimer laser at 308 nm was used to irradiate rabbit's dog's aorta and different organs. Fluorescence spectra indicated a broad-continuum emission from 300 to 700 nm with the peak fluorescence at wavelengths of 380 and 450 nm. The ratio of peak fluorescence intensity is I380/I450=1.05±0.07 for nomal artery, I380/I450=1.32±0.10 for atheromas plagues.

    Light propagation in two-layered skin mode was simulated with Monte Carlo calculation using two diferent phase functions to give the photon-RBC (red blood cell) scattering angles for comparision. Results include:the intensity distribution of detected photons, the dependence of photon number on frequency shift, the dependence of total frequency shift and mean frequency shift on RBC concentration. The results show that the linear dependence of total frequency shift on RBC concentration is valid only when the concentration is low. At low concentration the first moment F and the first weighted moment (Δf)s of the spectral power density of intensity fluctuation reflect RBC's mean velocity while at high concentration they reflect RMS (root-mean square) velocity.

    Investigation of Chinchilla rabbits' corneal losions induced by 308 nm excimer laser was presented. The damage mechanism was the same as photo-chemical and there were two phases of reaction of immediate damage and delayed ones. By statistical analysis, the immediately corneal injury threshold (ED50) of 0.485 J/cm2 was obtained and its 90% confidence limit was 0.349~0.608 J/cm2. The delayed reaction appeared 6~18 hours after the irradiation.

    In this paper, a numerical simulation of thermal process on the SMT laser microsoldering joint has been developed, in which, the influence on thermal process of the factors such as the thermal conductivity, variation of solder with temperature, light reflection coefficient of the lead wire surface, and heat exchange on the surface of SMT materials have all been considered. In order to carry this numerical calculation practice and prove it' s results, the reflexive characteristic of light wave to the SMT materials has been gauged temperature process of laser microjoint has been measured.

    Laser deep-penetration welding of stainless steel is experimentally studied. An optical system permitting rotation of focused laser beam for welding stationary tubes and tube plates has been developed. The quality of welded joints meets the demands of preasure container and the welding efficiency is raised greatly.

    Sturctrue and fabrication of 1.5 μm InGaAsP mode-locked laser are described. Emphasis is placed on its characteristics under CW and mode-locking conditions. 18.8 ps ultrashort light pulse are obtained at 960 MHz.

    The design consideration of CW tunable Ti-sapphire laser is discussed. The constraction parameters and some experimental results are presented. The pumping threshold is of less than 1 W. The output power is up to 1.35 W with an efficiency of 15% and a tuning range of 715~880 nm.

    By sum-frequency mixing of fourth harmonic of a mode-locked Nd:YAG laser with stimulated Raman scattering beam emitted from acetone in LBO crystal, we have obtained ultrashort laser pulse at 227nm.

    The spectra of absorption, excitation and emission of ZnWO4:Er crystal were measured and studied. There is an energy transfer process between Er3+ ion and the host lattice. Intensity parameters Ωλ of Er3+ in ZnWO4:Er crystal were calculated based on Judd-Ofelt theory. The oscillator strength, spontaneous radiative transition rate, radiative lifetime, integrated emission cross section and branching ratio were calculated and discussed. The authors believe that the crystal has the potential usage as a lasing material.

    We report in this paper the spectral properties of YAG double doped with Er3+(2 at %),Ce3+(0. 3 at %) (YAG:Er, Ce) laser crystals grown by Czocharalski technique. The absorption and emission spectra have been measured at room temperature. By using absorption spectra and Judd-Ofelt theory the experimental oscillator strengths were calculated and discussed as well.
