A novel ultrafast electronic pulse generator system consisting of a voltage charged transmission line(VCTL) and an intrinsic silicon optoelectronic switch has baon successfully developed. The switch in the circular circuit is illuminated by a laser pulse at 1.06 micrometers wavelength and 80 picoseconds width. A nanosecond square-wave electronic pulse with an ultrafast risetime and falltime(less than 200 ps) and a width determined by the length of the transmission line and switching efficiency limited by the load has been obtained.

    This paper reports a technique combinaing the eseimer laser induced aqueoug etching and the photolithography to realize image transfer. In the system consisting of gold film, aqua and G-aAs, the gold film not only acts as photomask, but also gives an impulse to etching. Our results suggest that the system is an electro-chemical photocell.

    An optical fiber displacement gauge is a novel heterodyne interferometer. It ig-made with a frequency-modulated diode laser and an optical fiber. This gauge has an advantage of simple and practical construction. The measurement range of displacement is 1mm with an accuracy of 0.05 μm.

    The phase match angles of type I in BBOaie 36.0-21.2 for Ti:Al2O3 tuning range of 660-1200 nm. The UV output energy of SHG of a tunable Ti:A12O3 laser of above 1.4 mJ/pulse, conversion efficiency of 26.2% have been obtained. An analysis shows that higher output energy and conversion efficiency are possible and BBO is better than KDP and LiIO2 for frequency doubling.

    A theoretical analysis is given briefly on the coupling of output window for high power CO2 lasers. The experimental results of 5,10 kW lasers are discussed and a temperature control for optimal coupling is suggested.

    Investigations have been made on the effects of the facet on the laser characteristics of the diode output and its differentiation over the bias current theoretically and experimentally. Kestilts also show that approporiately adjusting the facet reflectivity may increase the diode output power and the external quantum efficiency.

    Considering the detuning and the initial atomic coherence,we study the squeezed field described as an SU(1, 1) coherent state interacting with the two-photon Jaynes-Cummings model and obtain a general expression of the field density operator, study the evolution of the mean photon number and the variance of the field quadratures with particular regard to various conditions for squeezing.

    On the basis of heat conductive theory, the longitudinal temperature distribution and its influence on the critical temperature rise in F-P cavity in which thermo-optical bistability can be formed were discussrd. Some matching conditions concerned with the absorption of sandwich materials and backward reflector in F-P cavity for decreasing or eliminating the longitudinal temperature gradient of intraeavity were proposed and discussed.

    In accordance with Landau's theory on phase transition, a theoretical analysis has been made for the nonequilibrium phase transition in the operation of a fibre-coupled semiconductor OBI) with feedback pumping. It is shown that the feedback paiameter is the transitional condition from the second-order phase transition to the first-order phase transition. Parameters of three operation modes and signal amplification and processing have been reduced. respectively. The theory agrees with the author's experimental results.

    Cesium atomic resonr.ince filler (AEF) is one of the critical devices to realize the communication in ocean with blue-green laser. In this paper, the influence of argon buffer gas on the characteristics of the Cs-ARF is studied, and the response rate and the efficiency of Cs-ARF are obviously improved. The influence of N2 and the device structure on the Cs-ARF is also studied.

    The absorption and fluorescence spectra of the Cr3+: LiNbO3 crystal was taken with a spectrophotometer and laser-indused fluorescence technique respectively. Following results were obtained: crystal field parameter Dq/B - 2.49, energy difference of 4T2 and -E states = 114cm-1, emission cross-section of 4T2-4A2 transition σe=6.58x10-20cm2; and fluorescence lifelime of 4T2-4A2 transition Tf=2μs. The energy level structure of Cr3+ in LiNbO3 crystals were also explined theoretically.

    UV-laser induced erogs-linking polymerization of PVK-NTC-CHI3 charsetra-nsfer complexes is first investigated at room temperature in the atmosphere. The UV-Vis spectra of components are observed. The threshold energy density and the resolution, that is 30.0 mJ cm-2 and 0.7 μm, for the orosslinking polymerization are determined respectively, and the best grating pattern is obtained by using 355 nm laser radiation.
