A single-mode Ar+ laser at 515nm is modulated in amplitude and frequency by an aoousto-optic modulator respectively, the heterodyne saturation absorption signals in I2 are investigated experimentally. A first derivative-like saturation absorption signal with very steep slope obtained from the FM method is used as a discriminator to stabilize Ar+ laser frequency to hyperflne component a3 of the -P(13) 43-0 of 127I2. With the beat frequency between the stabilized Ar+ laser and other stabilized Ar+ laser stabilized to the same line, the stability of the Ar+ laser is better than ±4.7×10-12.

    A simple laser-CCD diffraction spectrum analysis system has been developed The phase retrieving of the diffraction spectra has been employed to measure the surface form of the aspheric optics. This method needs no aspheric reference wavefront which is required in the conventional interferometric aspheric measurements and is extremely difficult to be produced.

    In this paper, the noise equivalant power (NEP) of optical heterodyne system has been measured with a method based on acousto-optici germanium' crystal modulator working at Bragg diffraction mode as a frequency shifting device in heterodyne system. This method has the advantages of simple structure, easy change of signal power and shifted frequency. The experimental results are found in argreement with the theoretical analysis.

    In this paper, the least-square fitting method is used to obtain function relation of phase matched angle m(v) of LiIO3 crystal with wavelength of the fundamental wave. The errors of calculation of phase matched angle θm(λ) obtained are less than +0.1 degree within the wavelength of 0.8-1.9um. The errors of calculation for this expression is +7.6% within the wava length range of 0.8-1.9um.

    The experimental horses were irradiated by a He-Ne laser beam on the palpebra tertja at a dosage of 3.5810J/cm3 per day lor 12 consecutive days. After irradiation, the content of IgG,IgM and IgA in serum were all increased significantly;the number of T-cell and B-cell in circulatory blood was increased significantly; the index of stimulation and counts perminuted in lymphocyte transformation test, and the activity of total complements in the serum increased significantly after irradiation.

    High To superconducting Y-Ba-Cu-O film with zero-resistance temperature of 91 K and critical current density of about 105 A/cm2 at 77 K have bsen reproducibly fabricated in situ by plasma-assisted laser ablation method. The SBM micrographs and X-ray diffraction pitterns show that these films are of excellent eptiaxial quality and are oriented mostly with its c-axis perpendicular to the substrate furface.

    In this paper, the influence of CeO2 on the microstructure and wear resistance of M80S20 laser alloyed layer was studied by comparative testing. The results show that significant improvement of microstructure and wear resistance of M80S20 laser alloyed layer have been achieved by adding CeO2.

    This paper proposes a new method for laser alignment. When a circle ring situated in the front fooal plane of a convex lens is illuminated by a plane monochromatic wave, the center of diffraction pattern of the circle ring forms a straight line for alignment behind the lens.The principle as well as precision and distance for alignment are discussed in detail. The experimental results are also given.

    By means of laser speckle photography, the speckle displacement caused by refra ction in transparent medium is measured. The thickness and the index of refraction is then calcu lated. The measured range is wide and the thickness precision is up to the level of micrometer.

    A transversal flow CW CO2 laser with pulsed auxiliary discharge was developed. The discharge characteristics was investigated experimentally. The results of gain coefficiant and output power is presented both numerically and experimentally. The maximum output power of 12600 W has been obtained. Sealed-off CW operation for more than 8hrs can be obtained for each gas refilling with of output power 10200 W and power instability of +1.5%.

    Expressions of the pulse jitter between lasers in copper vapor laser chains are derived basing on the principle of probability. Results show that: the square of the pulse jittar between two copper vapor lasers equals the square summation of eaoh laser pulse jitter relative to electrical trigger pulse when the copper vapor lasers are in parallel; the laser pulse jitter between mth amplifier and the oscillator increases with m in an oscillator amplifier chain in series, but the jitter is less than 2 times of the jitter of thyratron discharge pulse if each of the thyratron has the same jitter. Experimental results are in agreement with theoretical predictions.

    CW laser emission at about 1.088um is reported in a 2.7 m long neodymium -doped silica single-inode fiber pumped by 514.5 nm Ar ion laser. The fiber ends were cleaved and directly butted to dielectric mirrors. An absorption threshold power of 7mW and a slope efficiency of 8% were obtained. A maximum output power of 1, 6 mW wag achieved.
