Based on the principle of writing and reading of optical disks, a simple method is proposed for testing the recording characteristics of optical storage media. A vibrating stage of spring-support was employed for substituting the precision rotating motor in optical disks, so the dynamic test of optical storage media can be accomplished without auto-focusing and stacking control system. The recording characteristics of TeSeIn pkase change optical storage medium has been tested, the results showed that this method is simple and feasible.

In this paper a new laser focusing system is presented. Using this system in the laser-microbeam device, focal spot size of less then 1μm was easily obtained. This system composed of a spatial filter and a focusing objective lens with long working distance (l>9mm) and short focal length (f0≤3.25mm). Finally, the test results are given.

Formulae for misalignment sensitivity of a rectangularly crossed prism stable resonator are derived by means of transfer matrix methods. The results obtained ia this paper have shown theoretically that the prism resonator has the advantages of insensitivity to prism tilting and high mechanical stability.

A method is put forward by which the Fourier transform hologram is recorded in real time. By using the incoherence-coherence property of LCLV (liquid crystal light valve) as an image conversion device, documents and pictures can be stored directly in Fourier transform holography.

In this paper, design consideration of optical path for microscopic holography is presented. It doesn't need a big shockproof installation and a special holography mioroseope. Using a conventional bio-microscope and low powor He-Ne laser, a clear microscopic hologram can be obtained.

A new definition of signal to noise ratio (SNR) for an optical IM transmitter is presented taking into consideration of both the IM noise and the dynamic frequency shift. The effects of weak optical feedback on SNE are studied.

Myocardial revascularrization by laser is a kind of operation which uses laser beam to converge on the surface of myocardium and punch from epicardium to endocardium. The blood in heart can directly make nutrition for myocardium. It is not neeessery to incise heart and put into bridging operation. Experimental results are reported about punching minute holes in myocardium of animals (i. e pig, dog, or sheep) by CO2 laser to improve the myocardial microcirculation.

Eefractive index measurement of the Nd: MgO: LiNbO3 crystal and its self-frequency doubled laser at room temperature are reported for the first time. Net SHG green output at 400μJ/shot has been obtained with a small Xe lamp pump at 26 ℃. The threshold pump energy ia smaller than 4.8 J. The laser operates over 25-45 ℃ No photorefractive damage was observed.

We present in this paper the study of surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) spectra of imidazole adsorbed on the electrochemical roughened silver electrode surface in nonaqueous methanol and the potential and laser luminous time dependence of the SEBS spectra. We also detected the morphology of the silver electrode surface and studied some mechanism of SEBS effect of imidazole adsorbed on the silver electrode in nonaqueous system.

The time-spatial cross-correlation coefficient of the intensity fluctuation of the speckle is calculated for three surface correlation in ease of moving weak scatterer. The dynamic characteristics of far Gaussian speckle field are considered by using the parameters "non-circularity" and "bunch ratio" and their dependence with the cross-correlation coefficient. A method capable of measuring the moving speed of the weak seatterer is put forward.

The polymerization behaviours of methyl methaerylate monomers is described under the irradiation of CO2 laser light, and the polymer products are analysed with infrared spectrograph and high pressure liquid phase chromategraph. The results show that MMA can be polymerized based on free-radical type or anionic type mechanisms at different irradiation durations.

In optical fiber lasers, the electromagnetic field is confined by the reflecting mirrors of the laser cavity and the fiber waveguide. As in the bulk laser cavity, there is an additional phase shift in the laser beam as it resonates in the fiber laser eavity.
