On the basis of the analysis on Talbot cavity in the previous paper, we continue to simulate the mode characteristics of Lau cavity in terms of the Fox-Li treatment. It is concluded that the fundamental mode is dominant to the higher-order modes, which may exist if the order number is less than that of the array elements divided by 4.

Using strontium barium niobate photo-refraotive crystal as recording medium, we measured the diffusion coefficient of sucrose solution. The result was in agreement with the data in literature and the experimental conditions were discussed.

Taking the sample cell as a thin phase plate and utilizing Fourier optica theory, a theoretical analysis for CW crossed-beam thermal lens with unfocused probe beam was proposed. Also obtained are group of the characteristic curves describing thermal lens properties, which are in agreement with experimental results.

A portion of the main beam was split off to form the probe beam. This beam was frequency doubled with a KDP crystal, frequency shifted to 630nm by backward Raman scattering in DMSO, and finally frequency doubled in a BBO crystal. The probe pulse wavelength was 3l5nm, pulse width 10-20ps, and pulse energy greater than 0.2mJ.

Differing from silicate laser glass, the main source of platinum in phosphate laser glass is the dissolution of platinum. The dominant step for the reaction of platinum with oxygen and the effect of melting conditions on platinum concentration in glass were determined.

Frequency-resolved measurement of the emission from a Eaman free electron laser under superradiation condition by a microwave grating spectrometer are presented. The tunability of millimeter wave free electron laser was observed. The experimental results have shown that the central frequency of the spectra decreased with increasing the wiggler magnetic field, which are in accordance with the theoretical predictions concerned with waveguide mode effects on the collective free electron laser.

Stimulated radiation (in the wavelength range of 340-385nm)was generated by two-photon excitation, and three-photon ionization signal via two-photon near-resonance was also measured in PTP (p-terphenyl) dye vapor. The relative nonlinear processes were discussed.

The investigation by Zhizhan Xu et al.of SIOM predicted[1] that it is possible that the lasing in the water window (4.376-2.332nm) will be realized with the Li-like recombination scheme using their high power laser facility. Our calculations show that the wavelengths of the transitions 5f-3d and 5d-3p in Ca17+ and Mn22+ lie at both ends of the water window. The fine levels (n≤12,l≤5) for these two Li-like ions and the radiative transition probabilities between them are calculated.

In this paper based on the ray path equations, the variable period characteristics of light propagation in a conical GEIN rod are analyzed. The analytical expressiona for the period of rod are obtained and used to calculate the periods of some conical GRIN rods. The quater pitch rods and the corresponding focal lengths are also given for GRIN rod lenses design.

In this paper, by the way of extended average level (EAL) model of relativistic multieonfiguration Dirae-Fock code, we have calculated fine-structure energies of 2S22p5, 2s2p6, 2s22p43s, 2s22p43p configuration and some transition wavelengths of 2p43s-2p43p for F-like CoⅪⅩ,NiⅩⅩ,CuⅩⅪ,ZnⅩⅫ,GaⅩⅩⅢ and GeⅩⅪⅤ ions which may be the candidates for lasing action. The most of the calculated values are predicted.
