The temperature fields of alcohol flame and impinging jet are measured by simultaneously using ESPI and real-time holography in two orthogonal directions. An interactive high-speed image processing system is used to process the fringe patterns obtained by holography and ESPI. Temperature distributions of certain cross-sections are calculated quantitatively. Sources of error in the experiment are discussed.

    This paper presents the operating principle of a new lateral shearing interferometer. It uses a Twyman-Green interferometer as a splliter, a grating obtained from interference fringes with a tested phase object as a detective element to elimilate system errors. The merits of this interferometer are adjustable sensitivity, antivibration and very large aperture. We used the interferometer with large-aperture to detect flow fields intsuper-sonic wind tunnels and rocket exhaust plumes and obtained important results.

    Photo-energymeter with high sensitivity, fine frequency and fast response has been developed with, pyroelectric material. The parameters of the calorimeter are calculated. The energies of both laser at wavelength 1.06μm and 0.53μm, and soft x-ray ranging from 0.lkeV to 10keV are measured. The sensitivity is about 300mV/μJ and the time response is less than 2ns.

    A high density energy-storage pulsed capacitor was developed for the needs of operating characteristics of the pulse capacitor used in the power supply system of "Sheng Guang" laser facility, whose energy-storage density is up to 0.218J/cm8 and lifetime may arrive 40000 times at least.

    This paper presents a new method for compensating the beam shift, beam bend and randon turbulence simultaneously by using multiple regression analysis, a lignment system is described. Experiments show that this method can raise the precision of alignment by 20-80% at different conditions and the accuraey of 10μm/hour within 10 m has been reached.

    The problem of exactly locatting of frequency plane was solved by theoretical analysis and experimental investigations. Fourier analysis methods, CCD-microcomputer data acquisition and processing system were used and a relative accuracy of 0.25% was obtained.

    In this paper, A12O3, Al2O3-5%mol Cr2O3 and Al2O3-20%wt ZrO2 powders have been sintered to fabricate oxide ceramics with CO2 laser. The product of Al2(WO4)3 is-found as a new compound which can not be found in two-diminsional equilibrum phase-diagrams. The analysis of microstructure and hardness of the laser synthesized materials have been conducted. The hardnesses of laser synthesized materials are shown to be higher than that produced with the conventional sintering mothed in furnace.

    This paper primarily deals with the temperature characteristics of stress-induced high birefringence polarization-maintainting fibers (PMF). The heat treatment on the type of bow-tie PMF shows that its birefringence has increased by 46% after annealing, this result has been proved by the beat-length measurements before and after annealing.

    The solvent effect for the photoacoustic spectroseopy in liquid baa been studied. It has been shown that the photoacoustic signal is enhanced in organic solvent. The enhancement coefficients have been obtained. The dependence of enhancement on the thermophysics properties of the organic solvent is presented.

    A frequency stabilized and doubled Nd:YAG laser was designed based on our frequency stabilized laser. The configuration of cavity was recalculated. Both KTP and MgO:LiNbO3 were used for frequency doubling and the method of angular match was chosen. The output powers of 800mW and 50-100mW were obtained respectively for the fundamental (1.06μm) and second harmonic generation (0.53μm) using a pumping power of 2.5kW. The intensity fluctuations were less than 2% for the 1.06μm wave and 5% for 0.53μm wave. The frequency stability at 1.06 μm and 0.53 μm signal-frequency laser output were respectively better than 2 MHz and 5 MHz.

    Beserch on selecting traverse mode by hollow waveguide tube in cavity and a new laser with "waveguide/free-space"compound cavity are reported. The key for achieving "multimode oscillation and single mode output"is the compound cavity where large enoungh multimode oscilating volume exists in the free-space gain region and the lowest waveguide mode output controled by hollow waveguide tube. A theoretical analysis was made of the principle and foreground of compound cavity which was confirmed by experimental results.

    A quartz capillary waveguide type H2 Eaman cell has been designed and investigated. Stimulated vibrational Baman scattering in H2 was studied by a 450nm dye laser pumping source. The Stokes-1 wave output energy was measured as a function of H2 pressure. The maximum energy conversion efficiency was 20%. The Stokes-3 pulse waveform was obtained by oxazine-1 dye laser pumping source and the maximum infrared Eaman output wavelength up to 6.57μm was obtained.

    LIF emission of A1Σu+(v'Σ15, J'=2)-X1Σg-(v"=1-13,J"=1,3)R, P double lines for Li2 have been observed by using 632.8nm CW He-Ne laser. Basing on the apeetrum analysis and the collision effect study we have identified other single line spectra arising from the GIF emission of b3Hu(vb=21, Nb=1)-X1Σg+(v"+3-6,J"=1).

    This paper reports Ti:Mg:LiNbO3 crystals grown by Czochralski technique have been used for external-cavity frequency doubling of 1.06μm radiation from Q-switehed N:dYGA laser, where SHG single-pass conversion efficiency of as high as 70% has been obtained, while two-pass conversion efficiney is 81%.

    By means of pulsed CO2 laser irradiation of tissue, we have given here the relationship among the pressure effect, the cutting speed and the pulsed width. From calculation, we learn ed that the pressure effect are created inside the drilled hole due to the variation of recoil momenta of the evaporated molecules.

    In this paper, the successful growth of novel tetratungstate crystal, Na5Tb(WO4)4, from a Na2WO4 flux is reported. The lattice parameters are calculated with the result of a=1.1452nm, c=1.1364nm, c/a=0.9923. Furthermore, the infrared, absorption, fluorescence and excitation spectra of Na5Tb(WO4)4 crystal are measured.
