This paper presents a novel electronic equipment with which laser beam stability excelling 0.5% can be obtained, and its output noise in comparision with that obtained with an ordinary stabilized current power source can be reduced by about 20 dB in the acoustic frequency range.

By analysing the condition of coherent illumination, the possibility and problems of electron interference and holographic experiment employing a TEG (thermo-electric emission gun)are explained simply. Experimental results obtained with JEM-200CX transmission electron microscope (with SAP pole piece) are given.

A laser-CCD sensor for mierodisplacement measurement based on the transformation between the object and the image is described. The mierodisplacement of cold rolling steel sheets was measured. In 1000m range, the absolute maximum error is of <10x10-6m and root-mean-square of <3.5m.

Salisike rams’ semen were irradiated with He-Ne laser light. The results show that laser is capable of activating GOT both in the seminal plasm and the sperm mitochondria, but exhibiting hyaluronidase in the sperm acrosome. This indicates that there exists a mechanism throughout which laser stimulates sperm motility.

Dressed-atom approach is used to study the saturation effect of an optically pumped three-level system. The samal signal gain containing two different saturation factors has been obtained, which may be conveniently applied to analyze different saturation behavior of the Baman and line-center transitions in optically pumped far-infrared lasers.

Using gr’-and g*-paramener equivalent resonators and expressing the beam radius on output mirror by normalized refractive power Dn and parameter A, the sufficient and necessa y conditions for dynamic stable telescopic-resonators in TEM00-mode operation is derived for the first time. Analytical expressions of normalized refractive power Dn, thermal local length, and g1*, g2* parameters of dynamic stable telescopic-resonators are deduced respectively. Eesults obtained in this work can be easily generalized to multi-element resonators with many internal lenses(one of which is a thermal lens).

The diffraction phenomanon caused by light-induced scattering in Fe: LiNbO3 crystals is reported. The forming process and intensity distribution of the diffraetive light cone are explained based on phase matching condition and photorefractive theory.

The correlation function of log amplitude fluctuations of a wave reflected from a plane target in turbulent atmosphere is derived for a weak fluctuation region and is used to evaluate the aperture-averaging effect. The results show that the correlation length of the collimated beam propagating in a folded path is smaller than that of the wave propagating the same total lengnth in the forward direction, they both agree in order of magnitude with the radius of the first Fresnel zone. From this, the aperture averaging factor in a straight path is greater than that in a folded path, which means that the turbulence induced ingtensity fluctuation can be reduced by means of a reflector. The agreement of our experimental results with our theoretical prediction is excellent.

Che quivering frequency correlation function of optical images formed by a receiving system is obtained by means of the Markov approximation. The source is a laser beam propagating in a turbulent atmosphere. An ,analytic form of the frequency correlation function of the optical image quivers of laser beams propagating in the region of weak beam turbulent broadening is also obtained and the problem optical image quivers depending on the wavelength of the optical source is discussed.

Light pulse signal amplification has been realized both in constant-light-bias (CLB) and pulse-light-bias (PLB) modes by means of a hybrid optical bistable device consisted of a He-Ne laser and a LiNbO3 electro-optical modulator. The light gain is 15 and 20~95 respectively. The theory agrees with the experemental results essentially.

We report here the experimental set-up and results of the chemical reaction in plasma initiated by TEA CO2 laser in methane and ethane which have been changed to actylene and ethylene. In methane, the degree of conversion to actylene is 93%. In ethane, the degree of conversion to actylene and to ethylene is 81.5% and 19.3% respectively. In mixture of methane and ethane, the degree of conversion from ethane to ethylene is as high as 37%. A brief discussion about the process of chemical reaction in...

Based on the viewpoint that slab lasers have intrinsic pseudo-phase-conjugate properties and a new matrix with the optical beam passing through an inclined interface, we obtained a conclusion that the fundamental modes of slab lasers have different beam spot size and beam divergence.
