Thickness measurement of the coated film is put forward which combines the opto-heterodyne technique and the precise phase interferometry. Its thickness measurement sensitivity is of the order of 0.1nm level. The experimental results conform to the theoretical analyses. Comparison with other instruments is also given.

We report here the results from a new pump/probe spectrometer that employs asynchronous optical sampling(ASOPS) for potential use in combustion diagnostics. This novel laser probe would be used in quantitative measurement of various molecular groups produced in perturbated high pressure combustion flame.

CCD linear array is used to measure the diffraction power spectrum, and the diffradtion spectrum that goes through the slit and the tested optical system is obtained. By retrieval of the phase of the diffraction spectrum, the wavefront errors of the tested optical system is obtained.

Optical logical moire is a new method based on the principle of optical logic operation to abstract a specific moire pattern. Its characteristics of eliminating original carrier frequency and narrowing fringes are applied to deflectometry in this article and the experimental results are presented.

A semiconductor on semiinsulator (SOI) structure was obtained in which the insulator substrate is neutron-irradiated silicon, then annealed with CW Ar+ or Q switched Nd; YAG laser, semiconductor layer was obtained and the implanted impurities in it was activated. The experimental results proved it to be an ideal material for developing SOI devices by low-temperature process.

The amplitude coupling factor is suggested to describe the difference and diffraction loss of the coupling cavity, the influence on amplitude coupling factor caused by GBINBOD’s slight deviation is discussed. In our experiment single-longitudinal-mode operation has been obtained. The mainside mode ratio is greater than 35 dB, the line width less than 21 MHz, and the maximum wavelength tuning range is about 11 nm.

Unstable output power of a white light He-Cd laser due to transient are dia charge was studied experimentally and the optimum aperture of the cathode discharge hole was found. It was demonstrated experimentally that the output power stability is 2.0%/hr and the maximum output power is up to 100 mW for the developed laser, and no transient arc discharge was observed within 800 hours of operation.

A novel host laser crystal Na5Eu(WO4)4 with a size of up to 4.5 mm grown withgluxing agent slow cooling is reported. Its infrared spectra, absorption spectra, fluorescence spectra, excited spectra and fluorescence lifetime were measured. It shows that the crystal is a promising laser crystal emitting at red spectral range.

Surface enhanced Raman scattering (SEES) effect of benzoic acid adsorbed at silver electrode surface is investigated, and SEES spectra of Ag/0.02 M C6H5COOH+0.1 Na2SO4 have been recorded. Enhancement factor is estimated at 1.1*.106. The pretreating of electrode and the pH of solution which affect enhancement are discussed. SEES spectra of benzoic acid recorded from various SEES active systems are compared. Experimental results can be qualitatively explained by surface active site and surface carbon model.
