    It has shown that the misaligment sensitivity D of optical resonators with internal lenses can be obtained from the sensitivity D of the empty resonator by introducing the equivalent g*-parameters and equivalent resonator length L*. Pulsed Nd-YAG lasers in different resonator configurations were investigated experimentally and the results confirmed the theory.

    The construction and the operation of a CO2 gas transport laser with cylindrical geometry is presented. This work aims at developing a small size and light weight gas transport laser at high output level. This has been accomplished by using a single metallic cylinder for electric discharge, recirculation and the cooling of the gas mixture. More than 1kW laser power was obtained from a laser of the length of 1.45 m, diameter 0.54 m and cca weight 180 kg. Typical parameters were: pressure 40 Torr, CO2:N2: He=1:8:11, discharge current 8 A, efficiency 12%, and laser spot 28×22 mm3.

    A double wavelength laser which oscillates at 308 nm(XeCl) and 222 nm (KrCl) has been achieved from a mixture of Kr/Xe/HCl/He. KrCl lasing action appeared earlier than that of XeCl by 12 ns. The Xe partial pressure in the mixture was very critical for the double wavelength oscillation.

    A 14CO2-12GO2 isotope laser has been developed and 80 laser lines were measured. 40 lines originated from lasing transition of 001-(100, 020), band of 14CO2 and the strongest line output power was over 4.0 W. The competition effect between isotopes were experimentally observed and domination of lasing radiation of 14CO2 were found even if the content of 14CO2 was less than 12CO2.

    A sealed-off TEA CO2 laser with higher average output power and longer operation is reported. The performances are: the continuous operating time-up to 7 hours at 40 pps; the highers average output power-above 70 W; the life-time-longer than 106 shots (FWHM).

    The small signal gain of pulsed avalanche discharge XeCl laser was measured by means of amplified spontaneous emission (ASE). In comparison with the gain obtained by oscillator-amplifier method, the obtained effective saturation pump power density of X-ray preionized XeCl laser was I.=0.8MW/cm3.

    The infrared optogalvanic specturn of Ho, Ne, Xe gases, OGE spatial distribution and its depndenee on the discharge current, pressure in the obstructed glow discharge have been measured. It has been observed that the discharge current noise is very low.

    This paper compares photorensitization mechanisms of HpD suggested at present by means of vitro cancer cellular experiment. The concentrations of HpD are near to the clinical conditions for diagnosis and treatment of cancer. It is derived that the major mechanism in the process of HpD-photosensitized therapy of cancer is still the singlet oxygen.

    The deflagration of C2H4-O2 mixtures initiated by a single pulse from TEA CO2 laser has been investigated. It was found that the laser power threshold for initiating deflagration was a function of the laser frequency, the composition and total pressure of the gas mixture. The minimum laser power threshold was observed at the laser frequency of 947 cm-1. In the presence of Pt-Rh or Ag surface, the power threshold was obviously decreased. The main product analyzed were C2H2, CO, CO2 and H2O. Their relative quantities were dependent on total pressure and ratio of C2H4 to O2 in the gas mixtures.

    This paper presents the results on study of a new UV-filtering material forlasers——TJL-coating. It can be used on the surfaces of the glass tubes and the solid laser medai.Its transmittance is less than 1% in the range beyond 360nm and over 99% in the visible range. The properties of the coating do not change after being irradiated for one million shots by xenon lamps of low and moderate power solid lasers. It is a new UV-flltering material which can replace sodium nitrite, patassium dichomate and UV-filtering glass etc. It can also bo used as a protective coating for excimer lasers.

    Effect of combined YAG anb CO2 laser beams on different tissue of dogs is reported. When the YAG laser beam is used alone or altogether with the CO3 laser beam, their haemostasia capacity was studied, experimentally We consider it is suitable at first to coagulate and seal blood vessels by YAG laser, and then to cut or vaporize the lesion by CO2 laser.

    We observed the relationship between the second harmonic of 42D-33S of Na vapor and the magnetic field. The intensity of harmonic is proportional to the square of magnetic field intensity for weak magnetic field. And for storong magnetic field, it is not proportional to the square of magnetic field intensity and tends to be saturated.

    The interaction of laser light with plasma is described which offers X-rays directly or indirectly. The specifications as well as the calibration of the X-ray streak camera are presented. Its physical application in laser produced plasma is indicated.

    A rhombic phase shifter is designed. It can convert CO2 polarized laser light into circularly polarized laser light with ZnSe pile-of-plates as polarization analyzer. The results obtained in experiment are in agreement with those of the theory.This element characterizing of high conversion eSciency in wide wave-length range can be applied to high power laser systems.
