A simple tunable UV light pumped by discharge laser system has been established. The synchronous operation of the oscillation and the amplification of two excimer lasers has been performed by using one spark gap. The tunable XeCl laser system with a single pulse energy of 11 mJ, spectral bandwidth of 0.07 nm and divegence of 0.2 mrad have been obtained.

This paper reports the experimental results of a XeCl laser using CCl4 or SiCl4 as chlorine donor and the effect of H2 on the output performance. The formation kinetics of these system is discussed for the first time. The maximum output energy is as much as 80% of that using HC1 as chlorine donor.

A tunable single-mode picosecond dye laser with ultra-short cavity pumped by the second harmonic pulses from a mode-locked ruby laser is presented. Its cavity length may be calibrated and adjusted continuously in the 0-300μm range. The single mode laser wavelength is tunable over the entire Eh 6G gain bandwidth.

The ultraviolet second harmonic radiation is efficiently generated by doubling the frequency of a flashlamp-pumped rhodamine 6G dye laser with broaband emission. Using KDP crystal, the UV spectral line width is remarkably narrowed, and the UV frequency is continuously tuned by changing the phase-matching angle.

The effects of pumping pulse width on the energy output and the conversion efficiency of pulsed optically pumped FIB lasers have been studied experimentally. It is shown that both the energv output and the conversion efficiency can be improved notably at 66 μm and 385 μm lines from D2O and 496 μm line from CH3F by means of wide pulse pumping no matter whether they are stimulated Raman omission or not.

The observation and measurement of the characteristics of narrow-channeled stripe-type GaAlAs/GaAs DH lasers are described. The difference between monomode lasers and multi-filament lasers is presented. The primary reason of the difference and future applications of these two kinds of lasers are also discussed.

The theory and corresponding experiment of the intensity profile modification of a Gaussian laser beam by an ultrasonic standing wave (controlled by electricity) are reported and discussed. When the spot size of Gaussian laser beam is smaller than altrasonic wavelength and their ratio is suitably selected, the intensity of focused laser beam can be nearly flat in the central region.

BC13 was irradiated by a TEA CO2 laser at low teperatures, an evident selective dissociation of boron isotopes 10BC13 11 BCl3 has been observed from the infrared absorption spectra and remarkable increase of enrichment coefficient of boron isotopes was obtained as compared with that at room temperature.

The intensity distribution arisen from holographic subtraction of damped oscillations is analysed. The result proves that the position of node is easily deter minable within holographic subtraction of damped oscillations. Furthermore, it was suggested that two holograms of holograpgic subtraction can be used for measuring the damping factor.

The paper describes a calibrator for powermeters and calorimeters of high power and high energy lasers. It consists of a laser, an electronic circuit controlled electromagnetic shutter,a beam splitter, a laser calorimeter and a laser powermeter. The device can calibrate laser powermeters and calorimeters in the power range of 5-1000 W and energy range of 5-1000 J with a calibration accuracy of better than ±5%.

A new plan of protection against the false-conducting phenomenon in high repetition rate YAG laser power supply is presented which makes use of the SCR to precontrol the A. C. contact directly before each laser shot. It has the superiority of simplicity, high response speed and high reliability. A practical circuit is given and methods for further improvement are discussed.

The result of this study showed that when a He-Ne laser was ussd to irradiata the acupoint"jou-cho"and n. f ubularis of sheep, the lipase activity in serum increased evidently. It began to increase from the second day after the irradiation and the process continued on the sixth day when the irradiation was stopped.

From July to September 1983, curative effects of 38 cases of low power He-Ne laser aeupoint irradiation treatment on furuncle swelling were observed in our department. All the 38 patients healed completely. It is noticed that the dephlogisticate and analgesic effects are superior to that with medicine.
