This paper reports the measurement result on the pumping thermal distortion of Nd glass rod amplifiers of different sizes with holographic interfernce method. The distortion of active medium reproduction process has been observed. It provides the evidence for selecting operation cycle of the laser system and design parameters.

Starting from the basic equation of off-axial reference beam holograms, this paper describes the interference type computer-generated holograms and discusses their features in terms of both wide and narrow fringes and gives the test results. Besides, the authors pointed out the reasonable range of the approximate calculation of the wave aberration and gave three sets of practical test results. It has been shown experimentally that the interferogram of the wavefronts of (-1, 0) orders is the same as that of (0, +1). The explanation for it is given as well.

Two kinds of wavelength tuning schemes are discussed for SHG correlation measurement. The measurements of pulsewidth are performed by SHG correlation method for the actively and passively mode-locked CW rhodamine 6G ring laser.

The classical optical transfer function is used to evaluate the imaging quality of holographic lenses with aberrations. The calculation results of OTF of holographic lenses having the third order monochromatic aberrations have been obtained. The function of OTF of holographic lenses in evaluating the imaging quality is analyzed.

The electron density of afterglow of pulsed discharge and the electron density of U. V. photoionization in the TEA CO2 laser, HF laser mixtures have been studied by using an X-band superheterodyne microwave interferometer. The formulas of microwave phase shift introduced by the non-uniform plasma are derived.

In this paper we analyse the physical moaning of the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the linear-transfomation and discuss the oscillation characteristics of the resonator, explain the differences and relationship among various types of the resonators and indicate that the variation from the Gaussian standing-wave resonator to the point-light-beam travelling-wave one is a radios change of the spotsize at the output mirror of the resonator from a finite value to an infinite one in substance. Finally the experimental results are compared with the above-mentioned theory.

We report here a single pulse selector which is a high voltage pulsed switch using a Blumlein circuit and a krystron with either electric triggeror laser light trigger. A Poekels cell is made of longitudinal z-eut LiNbO3. The switching efficiency is about 50%. The light extinction ratio is more than 1000:1. The halfwave voltage is 3.2kV, delay time of the switch is 30-60ns. The device has operated for a long time at a repetition rate of 10 Hz with reliable performances.

This paper describes the principle structure and operation process of a two dimensional laser Doppler vibrometer. The test shows that two dimensional planar vibration as well as the movement in two dimensional plane can be satisfactorily measured by thin device.

A double annular aperture method is put forward with which the authors recorded the processes of laser speckle photography. The distribution of light intensity in the diffracted halo of the picture of laser speckle are calculated and the pictures of Young’s fringes with higher quality are given.

In this paper, we report the study of Ohmic contact of p-GaAs andp-InP using sputtered Ti/Pt film. Ohmic contacts are very stable in the temperature range of 300-500℃ for alloying. The lifetime of the GaAs/GaAlAs laser made by this method has exceeded 6000 hours.
