A fast algorithm is introduced to increase the speed of hidden surface removal, based on the spatial resolution of human eye. A hologram is divided into several regions according to different viewing position. Then, the data of scenes are obtained for every region by removing hidden surfaces corresponding to center point of the region. The operation of hidden surface removal is performed only once for one region instead of being performed for every sample in the region. The effects of removing hidden surfaces corresponding to center point of a region and which corresponding to every sample are the same for human eye,if the size of region is small enough. But the speed is accelerated greatly. The experimental results reveal that the speed of hidden surface removal is increased about 105 times. On the other hand, the quality of reconstructed image doesn't decrease.
