Resonance Frequency Determination of Quartz Tuning Fork Based on Rapid Non-Electronic Measurement Methods
Two rapid non-electronic measurement methods (acoustic and optical excitations) for the determination of quartz-tuning-fork (QTF) resonance frequency were developed. Unlike the traditional measurement, based on the electronic excitation, with the QTF vibration caused by an external excitation source, a detection light beam is used to convert the vibration amplitude of the QTF into the variation of the detection light intensity to avoid the use of piezoelectric effect. In the acoustic excitation experiment, the performance of the different sound generators and sound guide tube was assessed. The excitation position of the sound wave was optimized. In the optical excitation experiment, the excitation position of the light beam was optimized as well.
