New Directional Filter Bank and its Application in Image Denoising
The checkerboard-shape filter pair with directions 45° and 135° which can decompose the input image into two images containing different directional information of the original image are designed.A 2-D separable CMFB is applied to the two images to realize subband decompositions. This cascading structure corresponds to a new directional filter bank of redundant ratios of 2.The new DFB can provide good directional and frequency selectivity. The new DFB and the doubly local Wiener filtering algorithm are combined to develop a new image denoising algorithm. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm achieves satisfactory performance improvement for images with abundant textures.
