Optical implementation of the directional filtering for high compression ratio image coding
This paper presents a compensational filtering technique used for retaining the image edge information with respect to the directional filtering method to achieve optical digital hybrid compression ratio image coding. The optical filtering is employed to replace the digital filtering calculation, and the hybrid coding system yields the compression ratio for image coding as high as 30:1.
