A panoramic imaging system based on charge coupled device (CCD) array camera with 360° scanning is introduced. From system compositions and functions, the operation flow of the system is described in detail. The images with greater vertical angle are obtained by revolving the CCD camera. Analyzing image data quantity, compression and decompression methods are used to solve the problem of large amount of data in network communication. A panoramic image mosaic method based on location information is proposed. And a panoramic image enhancement algorithm based on grey value mapping array is proposed.
