In response to the predominant issue of traditional classroom-based teaching, this paper discusses the practical course design for “Wireless Communication Principles”. The course focuses on a communication system with two-dimensional images as input and output, covering modules such as source coding, channel coding, modulation and channel modeling. Through student-driven design, it enhances the understanding of the fundamental information transmission processes and the impact of different channels, concurrently improving practical skills. In contrast to conventional practical courses, it emphasizes the design of the entire communication system. It introduces advanced low-density parity check(LDPC) coding technology from the 5G era, which deepens students’ understanding of communication systems and provides an intuitive experience of transmission performance. This approach offers new perspectives for cultivating practical talents in wireless communication.
