A new superresolution element is proposed to increase the resolution of an optical system by improving part of the spatial frequency. i.e., to shift the lower spatial frequency light to high spatial frequency band. It makes the central maximum in the Airy pattern narrower and increases the depth of focus. Calculation results have shown that this kind of apodizer is superior to the phase-shifting apodizer.
