The latest development, research trend and the application market of uncooled thermal ima- ging are summarized. The ferro electrical focal plane array and the microbolometer focal plane array have been the main uncooled imaging devices. The annual yield of the former has increased 11.4% and the latter 32.4%.Uncooled thermal imaging technology has advantage over dark imaging on the range and has advantage over cooled thermal imaging on the dimension and cost which make it main power on the middle range detection. It will take the place of cooled thermal imaging in many applications in the near future.
