Experimental Study of the Hybrid Transmission of 42.8 Gb/s Differential Phase Shift Keying and 9.95 Gb/s On-Off Keying Signal
The hybrid transmission of 42.8 Gb/s differential phase shift keying (DPSK) and of 9.95 Gb/s on-off keying (OOK) signals is experimentally demonstrated. The length of fiber loop is 410 km. The transmission line consists of four spans, each including standard single-mode fiber (SSMF) and dispersion compensation fiber (DCF). The signals are amplified by both erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) and distributed raman amplifier (DRA). The 42.8 Gb/s DPSK signals is detected by single-ended detection. The optical power spectrum, eye diagram and the curve of bit error rate (BER) are given, both in single-channel transmission 410 km and in hybrid transmission 410 km.
