Study of Glass Spray Tempering Process
The spray tempering process is theoretically more energyefficient than the aircooled tempering process. In order to investigate the actual energysaving effect of the spray tempering process, the plate glass with dimension of 40 mm×40 mm×5 mm were used for aircooled tempering and spray tempering tests. The results show that compared with aircooled tempering process, the spray tempering process saves at least 25.06% energy during cooling. The spray tempering process improves the tempering degree of glass, that is, the particle number of broken increases by at least 8.91%, the surface compressive stress increases by at least 12.12%. With the increase of mist load fraction, the cooling time decreases, and the energy saving effect and tempering degree increase.
