Design of Super Continuum Spectrum Light Source Based on PCF

    In order to obtain super wide spectrum by using the high nonlinearity effect of PCF, a super continuum light source based on photonic crystal fiber (PCF) is designed. The narrow line width pulse light with high peak power is injected into the high nonlinear PCF by the way of hole collapse and re-melting, and the spectrum broadening is realized by using the nonlinear effect of the fiber. Experimental results show that the spectrum range of the source is achieved 440~2 400 nm and the output power is 276 mW.
