In opto-electric systems, moire artifacts will occur when viewing periodic targets containing spatial frequencies exceeding half of the sampling frequency. The dual-magnification technique which can reduce moire artifacts by using two aliased frames produced in different sampling frequencies is proposed and discussed. Three computer simulation examples for qualitatively verifying the effects of the present moire artifacts reduction technique are presented.
