Photoluminescence Properties and Preparation of La1-xYO3:xPr3+ Phosphors by Solution-combustion

    In order to investigate the mechanism and properties of photoluminescence of La1-xYO3:xPr3+ phosphors,the phosphors with various doping concentration were synthesized via a urea assisted solution-combustion method.The phosphors were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction,field emission scanning electron microscope and photoluminescence,respectively.The results show that the samples exhibit a cubic phase in crystal structure,and the strong green luminescence is emitted from La1-xYO3:xPr3+ phosphors under an excitation of ultraviolet light at 295 nm.The intensity of green photoluminescence emission is increased with the increasing of praseodymium concentration.Then it is decreased at higher concentration due to the concentration quenching effect.The optimum doping concentration of Pr3+ ions is about 1.0 mol% for attaining the strongest green photoluminescence emission.
