    Characteristics of second-harmonic generation (SHG) in biaxial crystal KNbO3 were studied. The phase-matching angles and effective second-order nonlinear coefficients for the communication wavelength of 1550 nm were calculated, and the optimum phase-matching parameters were obtained. The influences of walk-off angle on effective second-order nonlinear coefficient and SHG efficiency were also analyzed.
