Design of Diffractive Optical Element by Using the Fractional Fourier Transform Sun Tianzi(Yunfeng Power Plant Ji'an Jilin 134200) Dong Zhili(Beijing POME Infrared Technology Corp. Beijing 100080)
The relationship between the fractional Fourier transform and the Fresnel diffraction is discussed. It is found that the optical diffraction from a spherical surface equals the scaled fractional Fourier transform. This new relationship is employed to design diffractive optical elements.
