Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes Enhance Near-Infrared Region Photothermal Therapy
The enhance effects of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNT) during photothermal therapy in 980 nm region in vitro and in vivo are studied. For in vitro study, the control group was not treated, the SWNT group was incubated with SWNT for 2 h,the laser group was irradiated with 980 nm laser, the laser+SWNT group were incubated with SWNT for 2 h and then irradiated with 980 nm laser. Cell cytotoxicity was assessed with CCK8 at 12 h after treatment. For in vivo study, the control group was not treated, the SWNT group was injected with SWNT,the laser group was irradiated with 980 nm laser, the laser+SWNT group were injected with SWNT and irradiated with 980 nm laser 6 h after injection. The destroy effects, tumor growth, survival rate between four groups were compard. The results show that compared to laser group, the laser+SWNT group could destruct the tumors significantly inhibit tumor growth effectively, and improve survival rate of mice. It indicates that SWNT could significantly enhance the photothermal therapy in 980 nm region.
