Effect of Typical Control Parameters on Ferroelectric Liquid Crystal Opto-electronic Velocity
In order to analyze different performances of a ferroelectric liquid crystal (FLC) layer when it works in different conditions, an electronic model in Pspice is presented. Using this equivalent circuit, it is easy to simulate and analyze how a FLC layer behaves in different temperatures, different wavelengths of incident lights and different frequencies of drive voltage. According to the simulation, when wavelength changes within the range of visible lights, the response velocity drops as wavelength increases. As to the parameter of temperature, the velocity reaches its lowest when temperature gets to a certain degree. Meanwhile, the response velocity is greatly influenced by the frequency of drive voltage only when it is beyond its critical value. The result corresponds well with the reports of previous articles.
