Picosecond pulses generated by cascade pulse compression
Pulse compressor using a two-stage Brillouin and Raman stimulated backward sacttering was performed. It was used to convert pump pulses of 6 ns duration at 1064 nm into Stokes pulses of 20 ps at 630 nm.
