Theoretical calculation and experimental observation of birefringence images of dislocation in SBN crystals

    In this paper, considering the photo-elastic anisotropy, we calculated the contrast of birefringence topography of dislocation in SBN crystals along the optical axis. It is shown that the petals of edge dislocation image for anisotropio crystals are longer than that for isotropic crystals. The images for screw dislocation have no contrast. These results have been compared with experiments.
