The dynamic laser speckle from a skin surface provides the information about skin blood flow. The scattered light from moving red cells is transmitted twice through the skin surface, so that random-modulated triply. In this paper, a new method is proposed to monitor skin blood flow changes based on the properties of cascade-scattered dynamic speckle. A relation between zero-crossing rate and the blood flow changes is derived. Analysis and experimental results on this method are given.
