The Ultrafast Photo-Induced Birefringence of a New Kind Azobenzene Side-Chain Polymer
The photo-induced anisotropy property of a new kind azobezene side-chain polymer [4(4′-phenylazo)-poly(glycidylmethacrylate),DAP-PGMA] is measured with pump-probe technique. A larger photo-induced birefringence of Δn 6.60×10 -4 and a much shorter rise time of 40 ps than those of P (MMA-CO-MAZ) are obtained in DAP-PGMA. The picosecond process is attributed to the trans-cis isomerization.
