Experimental study on characteristics of distributed feedback laser

    The radiation spectrum, temporary dynamic process and wavelength tunable characteristics of the distributed feedback laser pumped by a Q-switched and frequency doubled Nd: YAG laser have been studied. Two new effects including autoswitching whiclh narrow the output pulsewidth of distributed feedback laser light, and double pulse generation with the pumping power being higher than the threshold, have been found. The experimental results and analysis are presented in detail.
