The wavelength conversion based on cross-gain modulation in a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) has been experimentally studied. The wavelength conversion is achieved between the wavelengths of 1.3152 μm and 1.3014 μm with a bit-rate of 140 Mbit/s, and the experimental results are explained.
