The differences between autocorrelation and triple correlation are studied in contrast ratio measurement of amplified laser pulses. Theoretical analysis shows that triple correlation can not only locate the right position of the noise pulse, but also has higher accuracy than autocorrelation. These results are verified by numerical calculation.
