Experimental study of a Raman free electron laser with 1.19m interaction length

    The free-electron laser interaction length has been increased to 1190 mm from 308 mm by using a recently developed bifilar-herix wiggler with length 1.3m and a appropriate axial magnetic coil. The laser radiation output peak power of 12MW and electronic efficiency of have been obtained in our experiment.
