Chinese Laser Press and SPIE reach cooperation agreement on CIOP 2018

Chinese Laser Press (CLP) and SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, have signed a cooperation agreement for The 10th International Conference on Information Optics and Photonics (CIOP 2018). CLP and Tsinghua University will cohost this distinguished conference, which will take place on 8-11 July in Beijing.

SPIE will be a Technical Cosponsor for CIOP 2018. In addition, SPIE will publish the conference papers in the Proceedings of SPIE. This series includes papers from all SPIE conferences and from other high-quality conferences that cover research in optics, photonics, imaging, and related topics. Proceedings of SPIE are issued in the SPIE Digital Library, the world’s largest collection of optics and photonics applied research, and in print. SPIE submits the conference papers to Ei Compendex, Scopus, and Web of Science for the Conference Proceedings Citation Index-Science, as well as other indexes and search services, immediately after they are published.

CIOP 2018 will have 12 main topics, over 600 presentations including 180 invited talks by leading researchers, and 1,000 attendees overall. The conference will showcase worldwide research achievements in information optics and photonics.

Ms. Lei Yang, Chairman and General Manager of Chinese Laser Press, said: “This cooperation between CLP and SPIE will contribute to the internationalization of China's optics research. The cooperation with SPIE on the CIOP conference will be a new model for CLP’s conferences. CIOP 2018 will provide optical researchers with a channel through which to share their latest research results promptly in a high quality, international conference within China.”

Prof. Yidong Huang, Director of The Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University, said: “SPIE’s participation will further enhance the international influence of the CIOP Conference. We work together to jointly promote academic exchanges in the field of optics and optoelectronics in China.”

Dr. Andrew Brown, SPIE Senior Director of Global Business Development, said: “SPIE is pleased to establish this relationship with Chinese Laser Press and Tsinghua University. We look forward to being part of CIOP 2018 and to publishing its valuable papers in the Proceedings of SPIE and the SPIE Digital Library.”
