A Novel Description Method for Modeling Discrete Segment Surfaces in Myopia Control Lens Design [Early Posting]
With the growing awareness of myopia control, various preventive methods have been developed. In recent decades, a range of specialized spectacle lenses utilizing optical interventions for myopia control have been manufactured and widely adopted. However, the mechanisms behind these lenses remain unclear, and there is a lack of simulation methods for analysis prior to manufacturing. Meanwhile, the structures of these lenses are becoming increasingly complex, even incorporating aspheric arrays on curved base. To address these challenges, we have developed an efficient, accurate, and flexible modeling method for simulating such lenses, along with a validation experimental setup. Understanding the optical mechanisms of these lenses and providing a more convenient design method can contribute to the development of more optimized lens structures.
